Program Description:
Cardiff University is one of the most popular universities in the United Kingdom with over 30,000 students, including approximately 4,000 international students from over 100 countries. Cardiff was ranked 5th among UK university for its world-leading research. 

The city of Cardiff is the capital and largest city in Wales and is located 145 miles west of London. Wales boasts over 750 miles of coastline and more than 600 castles, and is home to three of the UK's National Parks: Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire Coast and Brecon Beacons. Cardiff is only a two-hour train journey to London and also has an international airport with more than 30 flights a day to many cities within Europe. While at Cardiff University, W&M students will live on campus in single rooms with shared kitchens and bathrooms. Cardiff's climate is characterized by mild weather.

The tuition exchange agreement between the College of William & Mary and Cardiff University allows W&M students to pay their regular tuition and fees to W&M while taking a wide range of classes at Cardiff University.  W&M students pay housing, meals and fees on site in Cardiff.

After students are nominated by W&M they must submit an online application by October 31 (spring) and April 15 (fall). Students will need to include a list of provisional course module choices, in order of preference, along with 2 reserve modules.

Course Information:
Students may enroll in a wide range of courses across various disciplines. History courses are difficult to find in the Spring semester, as most are year-long modules. Cardiff is a good option for W&M business students.

Academic Credits:
All courses except for those in history must be pre-or post-approved. History courses will be approved as HIST 299 when the student submits a syllabus to the Global Education Office at Reves.  Grades will not be posted on transcript or be included in GPA calculations. Credits will appear as transfer credits on W&M transcripts.
20 CU credits = 5 W&M credits
10 CU credits = 3 W&M credits

Program Fees: W&M tuition and all fees paid to W&M.

Housing and Meals:
Room and board paid to Cardiff University. W&M students will receive a single occupancy bedroom. Cost ranges from approximately 1600GBD to 3000GBD per semester depending on accommodation. Students apply to Cardiff online SIMS system once accepted.

Other costs:
A $75 application fee, $300 off-campus fee and an international medical/evacuation insurance fee of $170 apply to all students, to be paid to the W&M  Bursar's Office prior to start of program.
Students are responsible for airfare and visa costs.
