EARN A GLOBAL BUSINESS MINOR DURING SUMMER STUDY ABROAD!!
The Global Business Minor program is designed exclusively for non-business majors who desire an understanding of the fundamentals of business through experiential learning in a multicultural environment.

OVERVIEW
This program is specifically designed by the Raymond A. Mason School of Business for students interested in complementing their liberal arts major with business skills to diversify their practical knowledge. Classes will be held at the historic University College Dublin (UCD) and will include educational excursions across Ireland. To learn more about the program from the student perspective, watch the Global Business Minor video!

ACADEMICS
Coursework in marketing, finance, management, and special topics in design thinking that will provide students with unique insights into global markets.

The curriculum will be taught by W&M faculty and will be delivered as:
- program orientation at W&M;
- 3 weeks via online learning (synchronous and asynchronous); and
- 8 weeks in Ireland at University College Dublin.

Important Notes:
The curriculum for the minor will include 18 credits of coursework, 15 credits of which will be earned during the summer experience.  Students must have either passed BUAD 203 Principles of Accounting (3 credits) prior to the start of the program or must have the ability in their schedule to take this course in a subsequent semester at William & Mary prior to graduation (with special permission) to earn the minor designation.

BUAD 310 Marketing in an International Environment (3 credits)
BUAD 320 Finance in an International Environment (3 credits)
BUAD 411 Management in an International Environment (3 credits)
BUAD 493 Special Topics in an International Environment (3 credits)
BUAD 413 Global Business Immersion (3 credits)

Students who participate in the Global Business Minor program are not eligible to pursue a business major or another business minor at the business school. Students who participate are also not required to accept the minor designation for courses completed.

Students who submit applications may also be asked to participate in an interview process, which will be coordinated through the undergraduate business office. 

FINANCIAL
Application fee information:
The application fee ($75) is due by the deadline and should be paid online at the GEO Marketplace Store. Whoever is making the payment will need the student 93#, email, and phone number. The application fee is refundable in the event that you are not accepted into the program, or the program is canceled by W&M.

Program Fee for Summer 2024: $18,656
Students are responsible for airfare and most meals.

In 2019, scholarships for this program totaled $100,000.

The Dublin Global Business Minor Scholarship is available for this program. To apply, please open an application BEFORE opening the scholarship application. The scholarship deadline is December 4, 2023.

ELIGIBILITY
Students must be an active W&M undergraduate student in good standing, not on academic or disciplinary probation during time abroad, and eligible to take classes at the W&M Williamsburg campus to study abroad. For more information about eligibility, please visit our Policies that Affect You page.
