Program Description:

TANZANIA SUMMER I: FUNDAMENTALS OF WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT


PROGRAM DETAILS

  • Term: Summer Session I
  • Credits: 4 semester-hour credits (8 credits if taken with Session II)
  • Prerequisites: No course prerequisites: 18 years of age
  • Application Deadline: Rolling admissions. Early applications encouraged
  • Financial Aid: All accepted students can apply for need-based scholarships, grants, and loans


OVERVIEW

Spend your summer in the world-famous national parks of northern Tanzania and interact with local communities to learn about sustainable wildlife conservation. Through hands-on field exercises and expeditions throughout the region, you’ll be on the ground studying protected areas management and community conservation efforts.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT:
  • Take game drives in Serengeti, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara National Parks and Ngorongoro Conservation Area to study wildlife ecology and nature-based tourism
