NOTE: The deadline listed is for REGISTRATION with the Reves Center! The application itself will be due to the third-party provider or host university directly, based on THEIR deadlines (which may be before or after the W&M registration deadline).
Program Description:

The Robert M. & Rebecca W. Gates Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship to be awarded to outstanding students with a declared major in Global Studies, International Relations, or Africana Studies. 

Awards are $7500 for semester, and $5000 for summer study abroad programs. Students studying abroad for an Academic Year should use the Fall term.  Students studying abroad for the Calendar year should use the Spring term. 

Applicants should have demonstrated interest in the field.
