About the Program
The European Union (EU) Summer Program examines the past, present, and future of the European Union with an innovative and comprehensive approach. You will be introduced to the complex decision-making procedures of the EU and analyze the dynamics of European policymaking. Explore the political, economic, environmental, and societal basis of European integration with a focus on the interaction and competition between the EU and global actors.
The program begins in Freiburg, Germany where you’ll start a specialized curriculum that will take you on 14 days of academic explorations to EU member states. Previous course related trips included destinations such as Strasbourg, Brussels, Paris, and Stockholm. Engage in a Model European Union, where you assume the role of a head of state or foreign minister of an EU country to analyze and debate issues of current concern in Europe, such as migration, security and foreign affairs, U.S.-EU relations, relations with Russia, and more. The Model EU concludes the Integrative Seminar and is the capstone of the program.
