SIT Study Abroad: Vietnam: Culture, Social Change, and Development

Examine Vietnam’s rapid economic and social transformation while exploring its rich cultural traditions and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Learn how Vietnam overcame decades of war and isolation to become one of Asia’s strongest economies through economic, political, and social transformation. From Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, Hue, and Sapa, engage with government officials, NGOs, and grassroots communities to understand development from multiple perspectives. Live with a host family, study Vietnamese or Chinese, and experience one of Asia’s most dynamic societies.

HEAR FROM A FORMER STUDENT
"Overall, being part of the SIT Vietnam Culture, Social Change, and Development program boosted my confidence and abilities to be independent and versatile. Travelling internationally became an enlightening and fun experience to meet new people and cultures. Being able to widen my cultural immersions, global perspective, and foreign discoveries gave direction toward a path I wanted to seek and be an active global citizen. My time with SIT abroad gave me the opportunity to meet, understand, and appreciate the multiculturalism that is around me."
