In addition to an incomparable setting, you'll appreciate the University's extensive variety of course offerings in the humanities, sciences, business, engineering, and law. To make the most out of your study abroad experience, you may want to take advantage of courses in Irish history, language and culture. In fact, the vibrant cultural heritage of the area will be a unique and impressive part of your academic and social experience at NUI, Galway. While classes are taught in English, the University maintains a strong commitment to the Irish language and you'll hear Gaelic spoken throughout the campus.
Another attractive feature of NUI Galway is the academic calendar, which offers a full 12-week teaching semester in both the fall and the spring. You can expect to complete five or six courses per semester to equal a full-time course load.
An Arcadia program isn't just about enrolling you in an overseas institution, however. It's about all of the services that we provide. We encourage you to contact your program manager for advice on the application process, choosing courses, or simply what you should pack. Once you arrive in Ireland, our staff will lead an orientation program in Dublin that will introduce you to the culture, history and politics of Ireland as well as preparing you for the academic challenges of studying in a different educational system.
