NOTE: The deadline listed is for REGISTRATION with the Reves Center! The APPLICATION itself will be due to the third-party provider or host university DIRECTLY, based on THEIR deadlines (which may be before or after the W&M registration deadline listed above).
With a stunning campus that combines a gothic revival style main Quadrangle building with modern student amenities, classroom buildings and laboratories, the University College Cork (UCC) provides an excellent example of the contrasts which exist in modern Ireland. You'll be inspired by the history, beauty, and culture of the city of Cork with its hilly streets and the River Lee splitting in two channels and placing the city center on an island. An extensive process of revitalization is currently taking place in Cork which was designated to be the European City of Culture in 2005.
There are many unique academic opportunities and course offerings available at Cork. Traditional Irish dance and music, folklore, and literature are available along with offerings in business, economics, and environmental science. Music is a particular strength at Cork and students with minimal experience are welcome to take courses on traditional Irish music while those with more extensive experience can perform in groups in musical genres as diverse as jazz, African music, and Southeast Asian music. The Early Start Programs available for international students at Cork are designed to complement the fall semester and involve extensive fieldwork as well as stimulating in-class sessions.
Arcadia Advantage An Arcadia program isn't just about enrolling you in an overseas institution, however. It's about all of the services that we provide. We encourage you to contact your program manager for advice on the application process, choosing courses, or simply what you should pack. Once you arrive in Ireland, our resident director will lead an orientation program in Dublin that will introduce you to the culture, history and politics of Ireland as well as preparing you for the academic challenges of studying in a different educational system.
