offered through The Alliance for Global Education
The Alliance for Global Education is a partnership of the Arcadia University Center for Education Abroad and the Institute for Study Abroad at Butler University, formed with the vision of opening non-traditional destinations to an ever-growing and more diverse U.S. undergraduate population.
With a program entitled Contemporary India: Development, Environment, Public Health beginning in spring 2009, the Alliance is establishing a center in downtown Pune, a vibrant, bustling city of 3.5 million located a short train ride from Mumbai. Students will take part in an internship opportunity or directed research, will take a core course on Contemporary India, and will enroll in electives including Social Justice, Development Economics, Environmental Issues, Film, and Public Health for a total of 15-18 credits per semester. In addition, a full range of co-curricular opportunities and urban and rural field trips complements the program curriculum. .
Internships
Students will be offered opportunities for placement within Pune's most exciting NGOs, the international business and technology community, and institutions such as the National Film Archives.
