Founded in the mid-nineteenth century, the University of Exeter is one of the United Kingdom's most popular and successful universities. A diverse range of courses is offered at Exeter through its seventeen academic schools, and the University was ranked 9th in the UK in the Sunday Times University Guide 2012. It was also ranked runner-up for the Sunday Times University of the Year award. W&M students may take courses from the full university curriculum, with the exception of music or chemistry courses. Business courses may also be taken.

Exeter boasts both urban and rural areas, along with a beautiful stretch of beaches that make it a popular tourist destination.  The Streatham Campus in Exeter is widely acknowledged as the most beautiful in the UK.  Approximately two hours by train from London, Exeter has all the excitement of a big city with the charm and comfort of a small town.  Places of interest include the medieval Cathedral, Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, and Exeter Phoenix, a thriving arts center. The cities of Bath, Oxford, Bristol, and Plymouth are all less than two hours away.

The tuition exchange agreement between the College of William & Mary and the University of Exeter allows W&M students to pay their regular tuition and fees to W&M while taking classes at Exeter.  W&M students will pay housing, meals on site in Exeter.

Dates / Deadlines:
Term Year App Deadline Decision Date Start Date End Date
Spring 2017 10/03/2016 10/15/2016 TBA TBA
NOTE: Applications are first reviewed by the Reves Center, and students nominated for the exchange program are notified. Application materials are then sent to the school abroad (and the school abroad often requests additional materials at this time). When the school abroad completes their application review, students are then notified of the final acceptance decision. This timeline varies greatly from school to school. In rare cases a student nominated by the Reves Center will not be selected by the school abroad to attend their university; the Reves Center would then explore further options for the student. 2. Any start and end dates listed are to serve as a guide for general planning, but specific dates are subject to change and may not include mandatory orientation programs or exams. Contact your host university for the most accurate dates.
