Toledo, Spain

Arcadia ToledoIf you want to immerse yourself in Spanish language and culture, you'll find tremendous opportunities at the Fundación José Ortega y Gasset, located in the beautiful medieval city of Toledo.

You'll be able to choose from a range of Spanish language courses as well as humanities offerings that focus on the cultural and historical contributions of Spain from art and architecture to literature, politics, and philosophical thought. Your classroom studies will come to life through a variety of regularly scheduled field excursions and museum visits.

The Fundación is located in the heart of the old city of Toledo. Besides being conveniently situated less than one hour south of Madrid, Toledo represents one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the world. The city is a wonderful classroom filled with ancient mosques, Gothic and Mudéjar churches, Romanesque and Visigothic structures, and Renaissance palaces.

The Arcadia Advantage
Before you arrive in Toledo, you can contact our program manager for advice on the application process, choosing courses, housing or simply what you should pack. Once you arrive, our resident director (in conjunction with the Fundación staff) will lead an orientation program that will introduce you to the culture, history and politics of Spain as well as preparing you for the academic challenges of studying in a different educational system.
